Waiting

Hi everyone, this is Suzanne, Mary's youngest daughter.  Mom wanted me to let you know that she's been feeling better these last couple days.  She is currently on day 15 of her treatment.  For the first 6 days they administered the chemo, then she waited to feel the effects, and now her health is improving every day.  They had to take all of her blood levels (red blood cells, white blood cells, and her platelets) down to nothing in hopes that they will be replenished with good healthy cells.

Mom is staying up at Northwestern waiting for her counts to start coming back up.  We're hoping she'll be able to come home sometime next week, but it just depends on how fast her levels get back to normal.  They're not going to do a biopsy to see if the cancer is gone, instead they're going to rely on her blood tests (which they take everyday) to get an idea of what the chemo accomplished.  Once the doctors see what's going on in her blood, they'll figure out what Mom will do next.

Please keep praying.  Now is a critical time for her body to recover and start producing all good/normal cells.  We're thankful that she's through the hardest part of her round of treatment.  We know God was with her, carrying her through.

  1. This is great news, Mary! We are still praying for you. For complete healing. For God's perspective. For strength. You are such a strong fighter, and I'm so thankful to hear that you are on your way up. :)
