Everything is still pretty quiet around the hospital for now. My mom is still feeling okay, taking walks, eating her delicious (okay, maybe not) hospital meals, and enjoying her visitors. Jenni, Mary's niece, stayed with her last night and is there now. Jenni text me saying that they had a good night with the exception of beeping machines. She said this morning mom was chatting with the lady in the next room over who's going through the same thing. The lady is a few days ahead of my mom and is having some really rough days now. The nurse told my mom it'll feel like she was hit by a semi in the next few days.
Jenni asked me to call all of our prayer warriors! Mom needs God's strength to get through the days ahead and to conquer this thing once and for all! Please be praying for my mom over the next week! We'll keep you updated on specific needs as the days go on.
Mary, as your difficult journey continues, I will continue to ask God for his blessings and to heal you. As I have read this, it sounds like your family has been very attentive to your needs. It must be an awsome feeling to know that there are so many people who are helping you get through this battle. May God Bless you and all of them.

Mary, glad to hear that you are doing well so far. I know that the next few days and weeks will be terrible for you. I continue to pray for God's healing for you. I know that He has brought you this far and that He will continue to be with you for the remainder of your journey. He will not leave you to do this on your own. Take care of yourself and He will do the rest.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear how you are! I have been thinking about you ever since your transplant. Unfortunately, since my friend here went thru this, I know you are going to have some tough days - but, you are going to get thru this, Mary. Try to concentrate and focus on your kids and grandchildren - how they are going to grow old with you and how much fun that is going to be!!! Prayers for you in St. Louis are bountiful as many churches are praying for your strength, healing, and your remission. I know I speak for everyone on this blog... we just wish there was more we all could do.

ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteMy mom, Laurie and I were sitting at Valerie's 7th Grade Elite Game yesterday in Normal. We started talking about when Julie and Laurie were at their state bball tournament during their Junior year. Valerie was 2 1/2 and Zach was 6 weeks old. We all agreed that Julie would have wide eyes and shake her head thinking about Val being 13 and playing in a bball tournament too! How time flies!
We then started talking about how Val was Laurie and Julie's alive doll that they played with and dressed up (wife beater t-shirts). :)
We were continuting the Seneca Girls Basketball tradition yesterday. We all wore blue shirts (our school colors) and put names and jersey numbers all over the van alongside paw prints (our mascot) and GO TIGERS!
Unfortunately, we suffered a heart-breaking loss but Val left with a state sweatshirt, t-shirt, plaque and great memories.
Hope this blast from the past makes you and Julie smile today. Know that lots of people are thinking of you and I hope this brings a smile.
Go Seneca!
Go GSW Tigers!
Love,
Carrie Finkill
